Story of a Gladiator (« L’Histoire d’un Gladiateur ») est un beat ’em up d’arène où vous incarnez un homme à la recherche de son destin. C’est sur le sable du Colisée que ce dernier vous attend.

Vous êtes un homme ordinaire qui a tout perdu durant la guerre contre l’Empire romain. Votre famille est morte, vos amis ont péri, votre maison a été réduite en cendres, et votre terre est désormais sous domination romaine. Malgré toute cette misère, vous avez réussi à échapper à l’esclavage, et peut-être même à un sort encore plus tragique. Vous passez le plus clair de votre temps à arpenter les rues de Rome, en espérant pouvoir trouver un sens à votre vie, et vous demandez la raison pour laquelle les dieux vous ont épargné. Un beau jour, le destin se manifeste enfin : êtes-vous prêt à l’accepter ?
