Hazel Sky est l'aventure poignante d'un jeune ingénieur affrontant sa destinée et ses désirs.

Envoyé sur une île loin de chez lui et de la cité volante de Gideon, Shane doit passer l'épreuve des Trials et revenir en tant qu'Ingénieur, au risque d'être banni dans le cas contraire. Connectés par radio, Shane et son compagnon Erin, comme lui apprenti ingénieur, s'engagent dans une amitié illicite. Une amitié qui changera la vision du monde de Shane.

Les Trials sont les tests ultimes auxquels chaque Ingénieur doit se confronter avant de pouvoir endosser les honneurs de ce rang. Pour Shane, les Trials sont sa destinée, mais destin et désirs vont rarement de pair, et dans un monde divisé entre Ingénieurs vénérés et artistes honnis, Shane se verra tiraillé.
