« A Painter's Tale: Curon, 1950 » est une histoire d'amour et de résistance, un jeu d'aventure sur la mémoire historique. Le clocher qui émerge du lac est le dernier souvenir de l'ancien village de Curon, inondé par les eaux du lac de Reschen en 1950 en raison de la construction d'un barrage, malgré la protestation des citoyens. Les plans pour le barrage ont commencé pendant l'ère fasciste, opposant les intérêts d'un grand groupe industriel au bien-être des habitants, qui ont été forcés de quitter leurs maisons et leurs pâturages.

Le personnage principal du jeu est un peintre qui visite Curon Venosta d'aujourd'hui, le nouveau village construit après l'inondation. Le peintre est entraîné dans le lac par une femme mystérieuse et se réveille dans le passé, dans l'ancien village de Curon tel qu'il était avant l'inondation. Autour de lui, les villageois ont été témoins de l'événement tragique à l'époque.

« A Painter's Tale: Curon, 1950 » n'est pas un documentaire, mais un récit où l'histoire et la fiction se chevauchent.
